Shape rocks or boulders with cork pieces - here's how:

• Break the cork pieces into the desired sizes and arrange them on the base.
• Now glue the pieces down one by one with superglue.
• Add sand, gravel, tufts, etc. as required.
• To represent rocks or stones, apply black paint with an airbrush or paintbrush.
• When dry, highlight with dark gray or brown paint by dry brushing.
• Add vegetation, props, etc. and glue them in place.
• Then attach the miniature to the base with glue.

With a little imagination, the cork pieces can also be used to create iron oxide (red) rock formations, forest scenes, city rubble etc. Try adding small pieces of metal (such as crushed paper clips) to simulate an industrial setting.
